A dirty water slurry pump is different from a clean water pump because the liquid may carry sand, small stones, fibres or sludge. Buyers should first write down the flow, head, solid percentage and largest particle size. If the pump is for sewage work, the product specifications show WQ type pumps with 50-600 mm discharge size, 10-7000 m³/h flow and 5-60 m head, depending on the model.
It is also useful to ask how the pump will be installed. Some sites need a submersible pump with guide rails, while others prefer a horizontal mud pump that can be opened for wear inspection. A good purchase is not only about the pump body. Spare parts, seal water, cable length and service access should be checked before the order is placed, so the site does not lose time during start-up.
